FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS AT MIZNER PARK


Key events at the Festival include violinist Itzhak Perlman (March 10), concerts by the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia with Flutist James Galway (March 6) and jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval (March 11). Broken Sound Country Club Seeks OK for HOOPS COURT and TENNIS STADIUM

Broken Sound Country Club, having just hosted the Allainz Golf Championship, has filed preliminary plans with City Hall, asking for permission to create a tennis stadium and add a basketball court. The Club is located on the north side of Yamato Road between Jog and Military Trail. They want to add seating structure, creating a tennis stadium next to its existing courts. They want to also add a basketball court with two three-tiered bleachers for specatators on one side and a 10' fence on the other, and an enlarged parking area.

Broken Sound Country Club has 1600+ villas, town homes, patio homes and single-family residences in 27 villages, a clubhouse, outdoor dining facilities, a fitness center, two golf courses, a children's lot and aquatic area.

YAMATO COURT LINES UP TENANTS FOR SHOPPING PLAZA IN WEST BOCA



A new shopping plaza is under construction at the southeast corner of Yamat Road and US 441 in West Boca Raton. Tenants who have already signed leases are CVS Pharmacy, HSBC USA Bank, Monda Lisa Cafe of Brooklyn, Gary Wood Express, Nail Trendz, Thirsty Turtle SeaGrill and Market and John 'Ric International Salon and Spa. Dining and upscale shopping are featured. There is about 44,500 sq ft of retail and commercial space on 7.5 acres. Buildin will be L-shaped with entrances off 441 and Yamato and via the L-42 canal crossing that Yamato Court, the developer, is building.

Property in the rear of the shopping center was donated to the Jewish Association for Residential Care and four 5,000 sq ft single family homes will be buile on the 1 3/4 acres. The Association serves people with developmental disabilities, and will build the houses to meet the specific needs of their clients. About 5 3/4 acres has been acquired by Temple Beth El of Boca Raton and will house a Community Center, religious classrooms and an early childhood center. This is to serve members who have migrated to north and west Boca and for new members.

HOMES AND CONDOS SALES NUMBERS DOWN

2% less home sales and 23% less condo sales in the West Palm Beach/Boca area for 1Q 07 vs. 1Q06, 8% lower priced single family existing homes sales and 29% lower priced sales of condos. Source for this information is FAR (Florida Association of Realtors) and University of Florida Real Estate Research Center based on MLS survey of sales levels from Florida's Realtor boards/associations.
